By now, instead of whining, one would have thought that those ex-sailors would have come out of their youth's trance state, and realize that they have been foolish to join a psychopathic rich men's war-and-destruction apparatus.

Sure they are "Heroes", in their own mind and in the mind of those in a similar trance state, unwilling to undo the indoctrination their masters drilled in their weak mind.
